What is Energy Healing/Therapy?
Energy healing or therapy is a holistic practice that activates the body's subtle energy systems to remove blocks. By breaking through these energetic blocks, the body's inherent ability to heal itself is stimulated.
The human body is a complete energy system in tune with the Universe. Any imbalance in the body creates an obstruction in the flow of energy, which results in illness. Energy therapies work to ensure that energies flowing within the body move unobstructed.
What happens in an Energy Healing Treatment?
Most sessions are conducted seated or lying down on a treatment table. Depending on the type of treatments, the practitioner will place their hands lightly on or near your body in a series of hand positions, including around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and the feet, as well as other positions based on your needs. Each hand position is held for roughly 3 to 10 minutes, depending on how much is required.
The practitioner does not cause the healing, nor are they the source of that healing energy; they’re a channel for the energy, similar to the way a garden hose acts as a channel for water.
What will I experience during?
Each individual and session is unique, you may feel a tingling, or a sense of heat during a session. Some people feel the energy as pulsating waves or feel a sense of movement or gentle rocking. Throughout the session, most people feel deeply relaxed, you’ll likely fall into a meditative state, and you may even fall into a light sleep.
What will I experience after?
It is very normal to experience release, emotions, unexplained triggers or memories. Often you can feel tender or tired afterwards and we often recommend setting aside some time after your treatment for reflection and self-care like a rest in our garden or meditation pyramid or take a walk or a nap. Drink plenty of water and be gentle with yourself. Allow whatever comes up during your session to be processed.
What are the benefits of Energy Treatments?
Energy healing is linked to a range of physical, spiritual and emotional health benefits, including better sleep, improved mood, reduced anxiety, stress and pain. Research suggests treatments like Reiki help your body return to a state of relaxation, assisting in the body’s natural healing processes, and develops emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being
How many sessions do I need?
The number of treatments you wish to receive depends on what you hope to get out of your sessions. Discuss your goals with the practitioner to determine how many sessions and how often is right for you. Traditionally, most practitioners suggest at least three sessions to get the most benefit and to adjust to the practice.
Is it safe?
Our Energy Treatments are very safe, calming and relaxing that are suitable for anyone including expectant Mums in their second and third trimester.
What should I wear?
Wear light, comfortable clothing, natural fibres are best but not essential. Most of our treatments, except for massage are performed fully clothed either seated or lying down on a treatment table.
Do I need to bring anything?
Unless stated in your booking confirmation, you don’t need to bring anything, however we do recommend that you come hydrated and avoid drinking coffee 2 hours before your treatment.
How long do treatments take?
Depending on the treatment, sessions will normally take around 60 – 90 minutes. For your first session we recommend booking 90 minutes.
Need to Cancel or Reschedule?
We ask for 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel your booking or you may be charged a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the treatment amount if we cannot book someone else in for the time we were holding for you. You can reschedule online or by contacting the centre.
